Breaking Bread & Bias

UBP’s Breaking Bread and Bias outreach campaign is a series of frank discussions about the “-isms” that affect our community where we talk about them openly with each other while centering ways of action and healing. For 2021 we’re focusing on informal conversations and calls to individual and group action to counter bias. We’ll be engaging with conversations around:

  1. Trans visibility

  2. Imposter syndrome and Latinas

  3. Identity & Privilege

  4. Inclusive stories for kids

  5. How to tell if a “DEI” kids book is actually good

  6. Engaging in action against hate towards Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPI)

Each event centers community engagement, shares a resource or activity, and provides support beyond the campaign through video, writing, or podcasts.
