Published on: October 10, 2023

We’re excited for our next episode to drop!

Next up, we’re talking with Shahrzad Yavari about cold chain, health equity, immigrant experiences, and more.

Shahrzad is a public health expert, with deep experience in global health. Shahrzad was recently an immunization supply chain consultant with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, supporting the COVAX initiative that provides equitable access to Covid-19 vaccines to all countries. The COVAX initiative has delivered more than 1.97 billion doses to 146 countries to date (Impact numbers may have changed since we recorded this podcast, the latest data can be found here at the UNICEF COVID-19 site). In her previous role, as the Director of Programs, Shahrzad established and scaled an innovative vaccine cold chain program to keep vaccines stable for longer, installed in over 17,000 health facilities across 23 countries. She has experience in both tech and nonprofits and has traveled the world to collaborate with Ministries of Health and partners to solve global health issues, beginning by having real conversations with communities.
