Episode 31 - Chrissy Stachl - "Measuring Success"

Published on: November 28, 2023

More podcast! Awesome!

Chrissy Stachl is another amazing Cal Grad, along with Linet, and we were so excited to talk with her.

Doctora Chrissy Stachl (pronouns she/her/ella) is a Latina scientist, and works at the intersection of science and education to ensure that anyone can thrive in STEM. She earned her PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020, at first working to better understand how water molecules vibrate and interact with one another. Along the way, Chrissy’s desire to make the field of chemistry more diverse and inclusive led her to switch her research focus to STEM education and developing methods to understand issues that negatively affect diversity, equity, inclusion, and sense of belonging within graduate communities. To do the research, she received support from a couple of places you may have heard of once or twice: the National Science Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
